The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced that former beauty queen Oluwadamilola Aderinoye, who was declared wanted for a drug-related offense, has surrendered to its Lagos command.

Aderinoye, crowned Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture in 2015/2016, turned herself in after being on the run for nearly eight months, according to The Punch.

The anti-narcotic agency had declared Aderinoye wanted after she evaded arrest during a raid on her Lekki apartment on January 24, 2024.

During the operation, NDLEA operatives recovered 606 grammes of Canadian Loud, an electronic weighing scale, large quantities of drug packaging materials, and a black RAV 4 SUV with the license plate Lagos KSF 872 GQ, among other items.

“Wanted ex-beauty queen, Ms. Aderinoye Queen Christmas, also known as Ms. Queen Oluwadamilola Aderinoye, has surrendered to the Lagos Command of the agency after about eight months in hiding,” stated NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi. “She was declared wanted by the agency in January after she escaped from her Lekki, Lagos residence when NDLEA operatives raided her apartment at the Oral Estate, Lekki, on Wednesday, January 24, following credible intelligence that she deals in illicit substances.”

Babafemi revealed that Aderinoye had been hiding in Akure, Ondo State, since her escape in January.

However, she finally surrendered to the agency on Wednesday, August 28.
