A moment of drama unfolded at Ward 11, Polling Unit 05 in Etsako West Local Government Area, Edo State, when former deputy governor Comrade Philip Shaibu arrived to cast his vote in the ongoing governorship election.

Upon his arrival, Shaibu was unable to vote because the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine was nowhere to be found.

According to reports, the BVAS machine at the polling unit had malfunctioned, and a technician was said to have taken it to a nearby classroom for repairs.

When newsmen visited the classroom, the machine, however, was missing, as reported by Leadership.

The assistant presiding officer explained that the machine was removed to resolve technical issues, but the electoral supervisor on-site could not account for its location, leaving voters in the unit confused and waiting for updates.

The situation has sparked concerns among voters, many of whom were left in limbo as they awaited further instructions.
