Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma has opened up about his secret to staying happily married for over a decade, attributing his success in marriage to sheer luck.
In an interview with media personality VJ Adams, Bovi emphasized that luck plays a significant role in his marriage, even more than planning or strategy.
I think most marriages have to do with luck before any planning comes into play,” Bovi said.
He explained that his approach to marriage involves not taking himself too seriously, practicing patience, and taking life one day at a time.
The comedian acknowledged that while no marriage is perfect, true perfection comes from embracing each other’s imperfections.
There is no perfect marriage, but perfection comes from loving the imperfection,” he noted.
Bovi went on to reveal that he isn’t the type to stay in an uncomfortable situation, further reinforcing his belief in luck when it comes to marriage. “I am lucky to be where I am,” he added, reflecting on how fortunate he feels to be married to his wife, Kris Asimonye Ugboma.
The couple tied the knot in 2009, and Bovi has often expressed love for his wife.
In an interview, he shared that he always knew he would marry a beautiful woman, comparing Kris to his mother, whom he described as the most charming person he had ever known.
The couple is now blessed with three children, although Bovi admitted that he had only initially planned to have one.
