The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has announced the successful rescue of 13 Nigerian girls trafficked to Ghana, bringing the total number of repatriated individuals in the last five months to 163.

In a statement released by NiDCOM’s Director of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the commission detailed the recent operation, which included coordinated efforts with Ghana’s Anti-Human Trafficking Police, The Rescue Live Foundation International, and the Nigeria in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) in Ghana.

Thirteen young women were safely returned to Nigeria over the weekend,” the statement confirmed, noting that their rescue was part of an ongoing effort by NiDCOM and its partners to counter human trafficking across West Africa.

NiDCOM emphasized its commitment to protecting Nigerians abroad and lauded the cross-border collaboration that made the rescue possible. The agency pledged continued efforts to address human trafficking and illegal migration, providing necessary support for those affected.
