President Bola Tinubu Approves Federal University Of Environmental Technology In Ogoni has signed a bill establishing the Federal University of Environmental Technology in Ogoni, a milestone for education and development in the region.
The new institution will operate across two campuses within Ogoniland, expanding access to specialized education and research.
The approval follows a recent meeting at the Presidential Villa, where President Tinubu engaged with key stakeholders, including Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and Ogoni leaders.
The discussions centered on reviving oil exploration in Ogoni, aligning with broader efforts to address economic and environmental concerns in the area.
This initiative is widely seen as a step toward correcting historical injustices and fostering sustainable growth.
As some observers put it, Tinubu’s decision seeks to “right the wrongs done to Ogoni people and indeed Niger Deltans by previous military administration.”
