Super Eagles stars Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface are back on good terms after it seemed like the former was annoyed with his teammates after their 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe on Tuesday.
Despite the plethora of chances, Osimhen was the solitary goalscorer for Nigeria when they welcomed Zimbabwe to the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. Unfortunately for them, they conceded late in the game after a momentary loss of focus that gave Tawanda Chirewa a chance to score for Zimbabwe and force a draw.
After the game, Osimhen was apparently displeased with his teammates, and he showed it on the pitch as he refused to talk to any of his teammates after the game. Victor Boniface even tried to appeal to him, but he pushed him away.
However, it seems both parties have now settled. In an exclusive video by Soccernet.ng, Osimhen and Boniface were seen at the airport lounge discussing, a pointer that both parties are back on good terms.
Boniface and Osimhen have a good rapport with each other, and both players often share bants with each other on social media.
So Osimhen’s reaction after the game was likely due to the disappointment of losing to Nigeria. The Galatasaray star is known to be a passionate and emotional character, so his outburst on Tuesday is not a surprise.
However, a player of his calibre must manage his emotions better. Despite the disappointing result against Zimbabwe, Nigeria still has a shot at qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
