Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, claiming it has invested more in agriculture over the past two years than any other government in Nigeria’s history.

Speaking at the distribution of presidential palliative relief materials at the Umaru Yarádua Conference Centre on Sunday, Sani highlighted the significant impact of Tinubu’s agricultural policies in reducing poverty, particularly in Northern Nigeria.

“The poverty rate in Northern Nigeria, especially the North-West, was between 65% and 70%. In the last two years, President Tinubu has made strategic interventions beyond palliatives—deep structural support,” he said.

The governor outlined Tinubu’s support for smallholder farmers, fertilizer aid, and non-partisan financial backing for states, crediting these efforts with tackling infrastructure deficits, creating jobs, and reducing poverty.

“All 23 local government chairmen in Kaduna are here today. They are the real drivers of this initiative. Without empowering them, our efforts against poverty will fall short,” Sani added, emphasizing the importance of grassroots leadership in achieving sustainable development.

He also reaffirmed Kaduna’s commitment to agriculture, noting the sector’s critical role in Nigeria’s economy, contributing 43% to GDP and employing over 60% of the workforce.

“In Kaduna, we’re tackling poverty through agriculture. Our goal is to remain Nigeria’s agricultural hub,” he declared.

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, corroborated Sani’s position, praising Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda and economic reforms.

“The President works tirelessly for Nigeria. He’s confronting challenges without blame. Our global ratings have improved because of these bold moves,” Bagudu said.

Representing President Tinubu, his Political Adviser, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, announced the distribution of over 12,000 bags of rice across Kaduna’s 255 wards, emphasizing the President’s commitment to citizens’ welfare.

“This initiative reflects the President’s empathy and proactive leadership. We call on community leaders and volunteers to ensure fair and transparent distribution,” Masari said, urging beneficiaries to use the support wisely and continue backing government efforts to overcome national challenges.
