Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed that if not for his career in music, he might have ended up in crime or worse.

The artist made the revelation while responding to a fan who asked what path he might have taken if he was not an entertainer.

“There are many options, I could be stealing oil, I could be playing basketball, I could be a fraudster, a suicide bomber, anything, including a prostitute,” Burna Boy replied.

Despite his unconventional admission, Burna Boy continues to blaze trails on the global stage.

He recently became an African artist with the most entries on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart after his collaboration with American rapper Gunna, WGFT, debuted at number 96 this week, taking his total entries to seven.

He also made history as the first African artist to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 in five consecutive years (2021–2025).
