Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has called on members of the State House of Assembly to throw their full support behind the policies and initiatives of his successor, Governor Usman Ododo.
Bello made the appeal during a meeting with legislators at his Abuja residence on August 19, 2025.
The gathering, which also featured a newly elected lawmaker from the August 16 by-election, was captured in a 29-second video now circulating on social media.
In a rather dramatic setting, Bello asked some of the lawmakers to sit on the floor as he addressed them, stressing the importance of unity and cooperation in governance.
“Sit down. So, are you going in there now… go and cooperate with the Speaker, other members of the House of Assembly of Kogi State, and be part of those that will support Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in everything that comes to the Assembly,” Bello told the Assembly members.
His remarks drew applause from the legislators present, underscoring their acknowledgment of his message.
