The governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has reshuffled his cabinet, redeploying Mrs. Adaze-Aguele Kalu (FCCA, FCA, MBA) to the Ministry of Finance.
The notice for the redeployment is contained in a circular released from the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SGF) dated August 30, 2023, which was obtained by MUK TV.
Sources within the Edo state government who spoke to MUK TV on the condition of anonymity said Mrs. Kalu’s redeployment to the Finance Ministry, which scales up her responsibilities and influence within the government, is in recognition of her sterling performance so far, with the Governor keen for her to play a more key role in his cabinet.
With this latest development, Mrs. Kalu, who earlier was assigned to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, now has a new portfolio as the substantive Commissioner of Finance in Edo State.
Recall that the Ebo-born financial expert, who is the amiable wife of Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu (KSJI), the 2023 governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Abia state, was sworn in as Commissioner in June this year.
