According to Mundo Deportivo, significant changes will be introduced to the international football calendar starting next season.
The traditional September and October international breaks will be merged into a single extended window lasting 16 days.
During this newly structured period, national teams will be able to play up to four matches, instead of the usual two fixtures.
The move is expected to reduce travel demands on players, create more continuity for club football, and allow national team coaches extra time to work with their squads.
The November international break will remain unchanged, meaning clubs and players will still face a shorter two-game window later in the year.
FIFA’s calendar adjustment aims to balance the needs of national teams and club competitions, while also responding to growing concerns over fixture congestion and player workload.
