Celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci has shared her intentions for the enormous pot she used in setting her second world record for the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice.
Speaking about the iconic cooking vessel, Baci explained that while some people suggested selling it or auctioning it off, she has decided to keep it for posterity. “Some people want to buy it, they said we should auction it but I want to keep it,” Baci remarked, adding that the pot will be redone in a way that makes it easier to preserve as a lasting symbol of her achievement.
The massive pot, which drew global attention during her record-breaking feat, has since become a source of pride for many Nigerians as a celebration of both culinary skill and cultural heritage. Baci’s choice to preserve it ensures the pot remains a physical reminder of her contribution to spotlighting Nigerian cuisine on an international stage.
