Senator Adams Oshiomhole has dared former President Goodluck Jonathan to throw his hat into the 2027 presidential race, insisting the ruling APC would crush him without mercy.

Speaking on Sunday Politics on Channels TV, the fiery Edo North lawmaker mocked Jonathan’s chances, claiming his stronghold in the South-South has collapsed since 2015.

“We will defeat him flatly if he comes out because now, the South-South is no longer PDP, so where is he going to start from?” Oshiomhole thundered.

The ex-Edo governor said Jonathan’s legacy was already cemented and warned that only his “enemies” would push him into a fight he cannot win.

“How can Jonathan be a threat? We defeated him before, when PDP was truly PDP. If a man had a PDP at its best, at its peak, and he was defeated, I think only his enemy will push him to go into election,” he declared.

Oshiomhole advised Jonathan to maintain his respected status as a statesman instead of risking a humiliating defeat.

“If I were able to advise him, I will say, Sir, maintain this status. You governed for eight years; you don’t have to govern for nine years,” he said.

The APC chieftain praised Jonathan’s 2015 concession, calling it his greatest legacy, but warned that a 2027 comeback bid would reduce him to a political lightweight against President Bola Tinubu.

“Mr. President will floor him. APC will crush him,” Oshiomhole said bluntly.

Backing Oshiomhole, PDP’s 2023 Lagos governorship candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), also urged Jonathan not to listen to “deceivers” pushing him to run.

Oshiomhole ended with a reminder of Jonathan’s own words, that his blood was not worth the blood of any Nigerian, urging him to let that remain his lasting political footprint.
