Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong has said the team won’t give up on their ambition of securing a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Eric Chelle’s side currently trailed joint leaders Benin Republic and South Africa by three points in Group C.
The three-time African champions will face Lesotho and Benin in their last two games in the qualifiers.
Nigeria must win both games and pray Benin and South Africa drop points.
Troost-Ekong insisted that they are still optimistic of qualifying for the global soccer fiesta.
We’re optimistic and we’re always going to fight till the end,” Troost-Ekong told the Super Eagles media.
We believe and we’re never going to stop believing, two important games, Friday, the first one, and after that we get back to Nigeria. Our focus now is on Lesotho.”
