The Forum of State Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has slammed two of its members with suspension over alleged anti-party activities and attempts to disrupt the party’s forthcoming national convention.
The decision was reached during a meeting held on Tuesday at the party’s FCT secretariat in Abuja, presided over by Edward Percy Masha, the forum’s acting secretary.
Those affected are Austine Nwachukwu, chairman of the Imo State PDP, and Amah Abraham Nnana, chairman of the Abia State PDP.
According to the forum, the duo were accused of working with “external forces” allegedly linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to derail the PDP’s national convention slated for November 15–16.
The forum said the disciplinary action became necessary to protect the party’s integrity and maintain unity ahead of the crucial convention, which is expected to shape the PDP’s political direction in the coming years.
