The founding National Secretary of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, Prof. Udenta Udenta, has disagreed with the belief that all is set for President Bola Tinubu to win the 2027 presidential election.
The political strategist also described the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, as a party of power grabbers who lack the knowledge of how to manage power.
APC is just a special purpose vehicle coupled together by those hunting for power, and eventually they got the power in 2015 but couldn’t manage it from 2015 to 2025. Ten odd years,” he said on Arise News on Thursday.
Speaking further, he said, “I do not agree with the assessment that all is set for the President to get his reelection on the platter of good, no.”
He said that the APC and the Presidency are in a panic mod, hence the reason they are pushing for election ahead of the schedule for the 2027 general election.
From the timetable – I don’t know whether it is verified – we’ve seen election will likely be February 2027, this is clear, a year and a half or more,” he said, adding that the Presidency has been able to suppress the opposition political parties through cybercrime laws.
The PDP is losing a lot of governors, other parties are losing a lot of leaders and so on but that doesn’t matter. What matters is that in 2023 a man called Peter Obi, without a governor, a senator, a House of Reps member, broke through and till today, whether he won the election or not is still in dispute,” Udenta added.
