Panic swept through Papiri community in Agwara LGA of Niger State after terrorists stormed St. Mary’s Catholic School, abducting students and staff in a late-night assault.
The full number of victims is still unknown as officials scramble to compile the list.
A source confirming the attack to Daily Trust said details would come later.
“Yes, it is true, but I am not in a position to give details. The church will issue an official statement later in the day,” the source said.
The kidnapping adds to a terrifying pattern of school attacks in the North, coming just days after terrorists struck a government school in Kebbi, seizing at least 25 students in another bold raid.
