Rauf Aregbesola, former Minister of Interior and now National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has detonated a political bombshell, declaring that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed Nigerians so badly that even God has “disowned” the ruling party.

Addressing a massive crowd in Osogbo after completing his tour of nine federal constituencies, Aregbesola said the APC-led government had collapsed in the economy, security and governance, insisting its downfall was both man-made and divine.

According to him, “Those in government tried their best, but God is not with them because they didn’t start with God.”

He accused the ruling party of greed and selfishness.

“They are selfish. They started with the word ‘Emi’, instead of ‘Awa’. They have been disgraced in all sectors, especially in the economy, security, governance, and others,” he said.

Aregbesola claimed God had abandoned both the state and federal governments.

“God has left the present government and even the government at the centre. They used to rig elections; we know their tactics.”

He mocked alleged vote-buying schemes ahead of 2027.

“Ahead of the next election, they have started taking good care of women, who are no longer of childbearing age. On the day of the poll, give them new clothes, and let them sit in a group of 10 per polling booth and leave the rest to God.”

The former governor said the APC had failed everywhere.

“There is no sector where they have not failed. They have disappointed Nigerians in almost every sphere. The economy is in dire straits, insecurity is ravaging the country.”

He told supporters the ADC was the only real solution.

“The only viable alternative to all of these is our great party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which is poised to liberate the people and make life more abundant for the masses.”

He urged citizens to unite and vote out the ruling party.

“It is time for Nigerians to speak with one voice and galvanise the electorate to vote out the ruling parties at all levels.”

After the rally, he visited the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, who hailed him as a “good leader.”

But the APC hit back immediately.

Osun APC Director of Media, Kola Olabisi, dismissed Aregbesola’s outburst, asking, “At what point did APC fail?”

He added, “He (Aregbesola) was governor for eight years and minister for four years through the benevolence of this same party he said has failed. He is attacking himself.”

“The ex-Interior Minister reached his current height through the benevolence of God and the party he castigated,” he said.
