The relationship between Nigerian Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen and his Italian club, Napoli, is getting more frosty as the player has deleted every Napoli-related post on his Instagram account, MUK can report.
Osimhen’s action may not be unconnected to Napoli’s trolling against him on its official TikTok account.
In a video posted on TikTok, the Italian club made a mockery of the Nigerian hitman for missing a penalty kick in a goalless draw match against Bologna over the weekend, but subsequently deleted it after Nigerians attacked the page with offensive comments.
In one of the fallouts of the derogatory video, Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, announced that his client was considering a legal action against Napoli.
Osimhen joined Napoli in the summer of 2020 for a club-record fee of €81.3 million and became an integral part of the team last season to help them win their first scudetto (another name for the Seria A title) in 33 years, scoring 26 goals in 32 league appearances.
For his love for the Italian club, he turned down a mega-money transfer to the oil-rich Arabian league last summer, which has therefore irked a lot of football enthusiasts about why Napoli could make jest of him for missing a penalty kick.
