Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared himself the most insulted politician in Nigeria after President Bola Tinubu, insisting that sustained attacks against him are the price he pays for political consistency and loyalty.

Wike made the declaration on Saturday at Ochigba community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, during a thanksgiving service held at the country home of the Chairman of the South-South Development Commission (SSDC) and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche.

Addressing political leaders from the local government area in a brief closed-door meeting, the FCT minister said he and his allies have never wavered in their support for President Tinubu, stressing that many of those now parading themselves as loyalists were absent during the critical moments of the 2023 elections.

“We have never wavered in our support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Let me tell you, after President Bola Tinubu, the next most abused politician is me,” Wike said.

He questioned the motive behind the persistent attacks against him, attributing them to his insistence on honouring political agreements.

“Why are they abusing me? Because they know agreement is what? When we have agreed on something, let’s implement it,” he added.

At the event, Nwuche reaffirmed his unwavering support for Wike, declaring that political leaders across Rivers State would continue to stand with the former governor, despite growing controversies surrounding his alignment with the President.

The gathering doubled as a show of political strength, reinforcing Wike’s grip on key stakeholders in Rivers State amid ongoing realignments within the opposition and ruling blocs.
