The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians about the sale and distribution of counterfeit Kiss Condoms in key markets in Onitsha, Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Uyo, Gombe, Enugu and other locations nationwide.

According to the agency, the fake products have been traced to popular hubs such as Onitsha Market, Idumota Market, Trade Fair Market and several other markets across the listed cities, prompting an urgent nationwide surveillance and mop‑up operation. NAFDAC explained that the counterfeit condoms differ from the genuine Kiss brand in packaging details, colour shade, labelling and physical characteristics, and may fail to provide effective protection against unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.

The agency warned that using the falsified condoms could lead to condom breakage, infections, allergic reactions and a false sense of safety due to poor quality and lack of proper regulation. NAFDAC urged consumers to buy condoms only from reputable outlets, carefully check packs for correct labelling and addresses, and immediately report any suspected fake Kiss Condoms to the nearest NAFDAC office for regulatory action.
