The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’allah, has said that intending students seeking admission into the tertiary institution must undertake a mandatory drug test and present the result before being admitted.
Prof. Na’allah disclosed this at the 27th Pre-Convocation briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, stating that the institution is working with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to rehabilitate students involved in drug abuse.
He said knowing the drug status of students before admission would help them be free from drug abuse.
The VC also added that students of the university found guilty of drug abuse would not be expelled from the school but would be rehabilitated in collaboration with the NDLEA.
