The Obi-dient Movement has issued a warning to Governor Alex Otti, threatening to dump his 2027 re-election bid if he refuses to align with their leader, Peter Obi, in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The warning followed Otti’s recent declaration during his December media chat, “Otti Speaks to Abia,” where he ruled out joining the former Anambra State governor in the ADC, despite both men having emerged from the Labour Party platform in 2023.

Addressing journalists in Umuahia, Abia State capital, the spokesman of the Obi-dient Movement in the state, Chibuzor Obiesili, spoke alongside two National Advisory Committee members and eight state collegiate members, making it clear that patience among Obi’s supporters is wearing thin.

‎”We call on you to join the ADC where our leader, Peter Obi, is and every other well-meaning politician is, for more united block vote which will not be divided,” Obiesili declared.

The Obidients also turned the searchlight inward, accusing Governor Otti of sidelining loyal supporters of the movement despite their role in his electoral victory.

‎”But, for the fact that the administration is people-oriented and delivering to the masses, which is the core of the Obedients, we have to throw out support behind this performing governor.”
