More than 34 million vulnerable Nigerians have benefited from the Federal Government’s cash transfer programme aimed at alleviating poverty and supporting low-income households.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro, disclosed this achievement while giving an update on the administration’s social investment initiatives. He noted that the cash transfer scheme is part of the government’s broader effort to reduce economic hardship and enhance social welfare among Nigerians facing difficult living conditions.
According to Dr. Doro, the initiative has been instrumental in improving access to basic needs such as food, healthcare, and education for millions of households across the country. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to expanding the programme and ensuring transparency in its implementation, adding that the government remains dedicated to uplifting citizens from poverty through sustained interventions and targeted support measures.
