President Bola Tinubu has reportedly intervened late Monday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, bringing Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara together for reconciliatory talks.
Details of the meeting remain tightly under wraps, but sources told The Nation that Fubara accompanied Wike to his Guzape residence after the discussion.
Surprisingly, Fubara allegedly begged Wike, vowing never to show him disrespect again, suggesting that a long-awaited reconciliation between the state’s political heavyweights could be underway.
The development has set Rivers State political arena buzzing, as insiders watch closely to see if the former rivals can finally bury the hatchet.
