The Nasarawa State Government has urged the two state-owned football clubs, Nasarawa United and Nasarawa Amazons, to win the 2025-26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) titles, respectively.
Nasarawa United currently occupy fourth position on the NPFL table with 41 points, three points behind leaders Ikorodu City, while Nasarawa Amazons sit in second position on the Group B table with 15 points from [number of] games.
The State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, expressed optimism that the clubs will emerge triumphant in both categories of Nigeria’s domestic football leagues.
Kwanta emphasized that the clubs have the potential to make history on the domestic front.
“We remain committed to seeing our teams, both Nasarawa United and Nasarawa Amazons Football Clubs, play on the continent, not just to win the domestic league titles,” Kwanta told Nasarawa United’s media team.
