Fresh assertions have emerged from Tel Aviv as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared there are “many signs” that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, may no longer be alive.
The perplexing revelation follows coordinated missile strikes by the United States and Israel on Saturday, targeting key Iranian installations in what Israel described as a “pre-emptive” operation.
The Middle East has been rattled by this development after reports confirmed that areas around Khamenei’s compound in Tehran were among the targets hit during the precision assault.
Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, insisted the offensive was planned to neutralised imminent dangers.
According to him, the strike was designed to “remove threats against the State of Israel”.
