A tragic incident has claimed the life of a 28-year-old man, Abacha Wezume, just four days after he joyfully announced his admission into the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).

The ill-fated auto crash occurred on Friday, October 27, 2023, in Rivers State, MUK TV gathered.

Abacha Wezume, originally from Aluu in the Ikwerre Local Government area of Rivers State, had taken to Facebook on Monday, October 23, to share his excitement about gaining admission to UNIPORT, a dream he had pursued for several years. In his post, he expressed his joy, saying, “Congratulations to me. Unique UNIPORT, thank you. I have just been offered admission.”

Tragically, a few hours before the accident that claimed his life, he posted a poignant message on his Facebook wall, saying, “I’m untouchable. I will live to glorify His holy name.”

The news of his untimely death has left his friends and family devastated. Many took to Facebook to express their grief and condolences.

One of his friends, Victor David, wrote, “Facebook friend, you told me you’ve gained admission to the University of Port Harcourt. The enemy never allowed you to realize your dream. That enemy, be it man or woman, shall never know peace in this world. Rest in peace, nwanne.”

Nworahu Nkechi shared her sorrow, reminiscing about her last moments with Abacha, saying, “Aba wenem. My Hustler. My paddy. You would always tell me, ‘Mummy, chimburuoma, you see this life, I no dey rush am.’ You always emphasized how hard work would pay off. So, that Wednesday when I held you, you didn’t tell me it would be the last time.

“On that very Wednesday, we talked about your admission. I congratulated you and welcomed you to Unique UNIPORT. You shared your plans and how you were going to focus on your studies. After our discussion, you tapped my back and said, ‘Mummy chi later na.’ I said, ‘Okay.’ The plan was to make Mama and Papa proud. You always told me that success and better days were ahead. Why did you have to go so soon?”
