River State Governor, Similanyi Fubara, has declared his readiness to face the consequences of the ongoing impeachment crisis in the state, acknowledging that being impeached wouldn’t be an unprecedented event.

Fubara made this statement on Monday morning in response to reports that some members of the state House of Assembly had signed his impeachment notice.

While addressing his supporters, the embattled governor revealed that he had personally experienced a direct threat from security forces.

He stated, “We awoke this morning to distressing news. I have visited the assembly to witness the situation for myself. En route, I was directly targeted by the OC operation, but it won’t deter me. Ultimately, someone will meet their fate, whether it be within their home or on the streets. If I’m impeached, I will not be the first, nor will I be the last.”
