Federal agents in Los Angeles have dismantled a sprawling hospice and health care fraud ring worth more than $50 million under “Operation Never Say Die,” resulting in multiple arrests and coordinated search warrants as part of President Trump’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud.

In a sweeping crackdown on health care fraud, FBI agents, working alongside President Donald Trump’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, carried out a series of early-morning raids across Los Angeles targeting what authorities describe as a massive hospice and health care billing scheme.

Eleven defendants now face federal charges after allegedly orchestrating a complex operation that siphoned tens of millions of dollars from government-funded and private health programs through bogus claims and falsified patient records.

Prosecutors allege the defendants used sham hospice companies and fraudulent care services to bill for treatments that were medically unnecessary or never provided at all. The network is accused of recruiting vulnerable patients, falsifying diagnoses and manipulating documentation in order to maximize payouts, part of what investigators say is a broader pattern of abuse within segments of the health care system.

Dubbed “Operation Never Say Die,” the coordinated enforcement action involved simultaneous search warrants at offices, clinics and residences believed to be connected to the scheme, as agents seized documents, electronic records and other evidence. Authorities say the operation underscores a renewed federal focus on rooting out health care fraud, which costs taxpayers billions of dollars annually and undermines legitimate medical providers.

“Our task force isn’t wasting any time cracking down on fraud,” Vice President Vance declared in a post on X, hailing the arrests as a clear signal to those seeking to exploit the system. The defendants are expected to make initial court appearances in the coming days, as investigators continue to unravel the full scope of the alleged conspiracy and identify any additional suspects or victims.
