The Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Council, Hon. Muhammed Danasabe Muhammed, passed away on Friday morning at Shifa Hospital Lokoja, less than 24 hours before the governorship election in the state.
Muhammed, who was a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and actively engaged in pre-gubernatorial election political events, was rushed to the hospital after collapsing at home.
A family source revealed that he was quickly taken to Shifa Hospital, Lokoja, late Thursday night.
Suffering from high blood pressure, he was pronounced clinically dead around 4:30 am on Friday.
Hailing from ward B in the cantonment area of Lokoja, Muhammed is survived by his mother, wife, and children.
Talba Lakwaja, the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja, officially confirmed the incident, announcing the burial at Anguwan Kura burial ground at 2 pm after Jummat prayer.
The procession will start from his family house at the cantonment to Lokoja Central Mosque by 1:30 pm.
