Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has set off fresh controversy after launching a fierce attack on some members of the Igbo community for criticising fellow Igbos who support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a heated post on X on Saturday, the actor slammed what he described as selective outrage, accusing critics of targeting their own while avoiding confrontation with supporters of the president from other regions.
Edochie questioned why such individuals do not direct the same energy toward Yoruba or Northern backers of Tinubu, as well as past leaders and celebrities who also support the president.
He further alleged that those involved lack the courage to challenge people outside their ethnic group, choosing instead to publicly attack fellow Igbos, often through social media.
He tweeted, “Any Igbo man that is dragging his fellow Igbo man for supporting President TINUBU, that person is a monkey and a coward.
“Show me a video of you dragging Yorubas who are supporting TINUBU. Show me a video of you dragging Northerners who are supporting TINUBU. Show me a video of you dragging all the past leaders who couldn’t fix Nigeria. Show me a video of you dragging Northern celebrities that support TINUBU. None.
“You don’t have liver to do it. But when it’s your Igbo brother you’ll rush and set ring light to drag him.
You’re a monkey and a big coward.
Shame on you.”
