Alex Ikwechech of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has received his certificate of returns from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), officially affirming his position as the member representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
INEC presented him with the Certificate of Return at its headquarters in Abuja on Monday.
Ikwechegh is expected to be sworn in at the Green Chamber later this week, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
This development comes in the aftermath of the recent Appeal Court ruling that nullified the election victory of Emeka Nnamani from the Labour Party, who had been initially declared the winner of the February 25 National Assembly polls by INEC.
The court’s decision was based on allegations of certificate forgery against Nnamani, as reported by MUK TV.
