Mascot Uzor Kalu (KSJI), the 2023 governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Abia state, has offered condolences to the families affected by the tragic fatal accident at Waterside Bridge, Ogbor-Hill, Aba.
In a statement from his media office on Wednesday, the former Abia state Chief of Staff described the incident as “horribly depressing” and expressed deep sadness over the accident that occurred as people were heading to work in the commercial city of Aba.
“It was so saddening for me to hear about the horrible accident at Ogbor-Hill early yesterday morning. Pictures and videos from the accident scene are quite depressing, but my heartfelt condolences go to the family members of the victims,” the statement partly reads.
As reported earlier by MUK TV, a container-laden truck fell off the busy waterside bridge on Tuesday morning, resulting in unspecified casualties.
Kalu’s statement not only conveyed sympathy but also called on the state government to implement proactive and preventive traffic measures to avoid such ghastly accidents at the dreadful waterside bridge in the future.
