President Bola Tinubu has protested for a place in the Guinness Book of Records, citing his economic reforms during his tenure as the Governor of Lagos State as the basis for this recognition.
As reported by Daily Trust, Tinubu emphasized that his significant achievements, particularly the economic transformation of Lagos state during his tenure, warranted acknowledgment.
He expressed his determination to ensure his name found a place in the historic Guinness World Records if not officially recognized.
“Consider my background—I come from the private sector, trained by Deloitte, and served as the treasurer in Exxon Mobil. I epitomize corporate governance in various aspects,” Tinubu stated confidently.
Reflecting on his eight-year governance of Lagos, he proudly highlighted the state’s substantial economic progress, transforming it into the fifth-largest economy in Africa from scratch.
He attributed this track record as a pivotal factor that propelled him towards the presidency.
Stressing his commitment to reforms, President Tinubu declared, “Nigeria elected me for reforms, and from the onset of my tenure, I’ve been steadfast in driving these reforms. If my contributions aren’t acknowledged in the Guinness Book of Records, I’ll strive to secure a place because I accomplished these feats without expecting recognition.”
Amidst his remarks, Tinubu’s statements coincided with the signing of two significant agreements between Nigerian and German companies in Berlin.
The primary agreement involves Riverside LNG of Nigeria and Johannes Schuetze Energy Import AG of Germany, paving the way for the supply of gas from Nigeria to Germany.
