Senator representing Borno Central, Kaka Shehu Lawan, has disbursed ₦135,650,000 to All Progressives Congress (APC) executives across his constituency ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

The gesture, confirmed in a statement posted on Friday by his legislative assistant, Usman Alkali, was described as part of ongoing support for party structures in the senatorial district.

According to Alkali, the funds were distributed on Thursday to APC executives across Borno Central to assist in preparations for the Sallah festivities.

He said, “Senator representing Borno Central, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan (SAN), on Thursday distributed cash to APC executives in his Borno Central constituency, totalling ₦135,650,000 to help them celebrate the upcoming Eid-Kabir festival,”

He further added, “This is the third time the Senator has given such a donation since becoming a member of the National Assembly.”

The aide explained that the financial support was meant to appreciate party executives for their role in strengthening democracy and sustaining the party’s structure at the grassroots level.

Meanwhile, the senator had earlier stepped down from the Borno governorship race, endorsing Mustapha Gubio, the candidate backed by Governor Babagana Zulum, after a stakeholders’ meeting reportedly held in Abuja.

According to his aide, the decision was part of a broader party consensus aimed at maintaining unity ahead of the 2027 political cycle.
