In the Mokola Isale neighborhood of Abeokuta, Ogun state, Mr. Ganiyu Aikore, a 17-year-old girl’s father, is under investigation by the police for allegedly getting his daughter pregnant.
According to a Punch Metro source who wishes to remain anonymous, Aikore went to a neighboring pharmacy on Wednesday to purchase what seemed to be abortion drugs to end his daughter’s pregnancy after learning that he had gotten her pregnant.
However, the girl became suspicious that her father was taking every measure to end the pregnancy, which caused the concerned locals to submit the situation to the chairman of the community.
It was further gathered that the chairman, without any hesitation, took the daughter to Adatan Police Station to file the complaints against the father.
Omolola Odutola, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident to newsmen, acknowledging that Aikore copulated with his daughter and stating that the pregnancy is exactly 23 weeks.
“We have arrested him. He was suspected to have been sexually involved with his teenage daughter for a very long time. The pregnancy is 23 weeks. We are conducting further investigation,” she confirmed.
