Real Madrid and UEFA are reportedly in advanced negotiations over a groundbreaking proposal that could see UEFA Champions League matches streamed for free on a single global platform.
The initiative, being championed by Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez and led in negotiations by his close associate Anas Laghrari, aims to centralize the broadcasting of all UEFA club competitions including the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League under one digital platform.
According to reports, the proposed model would move away from the traditional subscription-based system and instead rely on integrated advertising to fund broadcasts. Advocates of the plan argue that such a shift could significantly expand global access to European football while revitalizing its audiovisual and commercial ecosystem.
If implemented, the platform would represent a major disruption to the current broadcasting structure, which is dominated by regional rights holders and pay-TV providers. It could also reshape how fans consume elite European football, particularly in markets where subscription costs have limited viewership.
While discussions are said to be at an advanced stage, UEFA has yet to make any official announcement, and key details—including timelines and commercial partners—remain unclear.
