Japanese trio has officially been signed to a US record label Atlanta Records. The three man group Sho Hirano, Yuta Jinguji, Yuta Kishi have recently visited the label’s LA office and has begun working on a new music set to be released later in the year. They announced via their media channels ”We’re excited to announce that we’ve signed with Atlantic Records in the U.S. We’re really looking forward to expanding our sound and reach with the team,” the group said in a statement. “We’ll continue working hard to bring our music to as many people as possible, and we truly appreciate your continued support”.
Following Number_i’s signing with WME for worldwide representation in every field, the Atlantic signing was announced. Since their 2024 debut, the trio’s popularity in Japan has skyrocketed.
The ensemble performed on the Futures stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2024 as part of the management organization and record label 88Rising. It was Number_i’s first major music event and their first show in the United States. Number_i has started to enter the U.S. market more aggressively after that performance.
At 88Rising’s Head in the Clouds Festival at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena last year, the three-piece band played their first featured festival set in the United States. The show followed the release of their album God_i, which had the lead single of the same name. The song, which debuted at number one on Billboard Japan’s Hot 100 chart, was produced by Kishi.
With multiple No. 1 hits on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart, the group has seen enormous domestic success. No. I, their debut full-length album, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Japan JP Albums chart and No. 4 on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global ranking. Alongside the group, their global presence has continued to expand.
“We believe that music goes beyond borders, of course, and good music, good anything, can be understood and shared by people across the world,” member Hirano told THR in an interview last year. “We just make good music, whatever we believe in and whatever we are happy with, and we’d like to spread that to more and more people.”
TOBE, the Japanese entertainment agency where the group hails from, continue to manage Number_i out of Japan.
