The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two armed robbery suspects in the Yola-North Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, operatives attached to Doubeli Divisional Police Headquarters arrested the two suspects in connection with separate criminal cases.

“On 3rd June 2026, police operatives arrested one Idris Auwal, 22 years old, a resident of Doubeli Culvert, Yola North Local Government Area,” the statement said.

According to the statement, preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect conspired with three other accomplices, who are currently at large, and broke into a shop located at Nassarawo Borehole belonging to Abdullahi Sunusi.

The statement added that the suspects carted away a bag containing cash, important documents, and assorted shop provisions valued at an undisclosed amount.

“Through diligent investigation, Idris Auwal was apprehended while efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing accomplices”.

“In a similar incident on 5th June 2026, operatives of Doubeli Division arrested another suspected Shilla gang member who specializes in attacking and robbing innocent citizens of their valuables.”
