Former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Reagan Ufomba, has officially joined the Labour Party (LP), strengthening the party’s ranks in Abia State.
Ufomba, who recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was formally received into the Labour Party on Wednesday at Okpuala Ngwa by Governor Alex Otti.
Welcoming the former governorship aspirant and his supporters, Governor Otti described the defection as a significant boost to the Labour Party and the ongoing development efforts of his administration.
The governor assured the new members of equal treatment within the party, stressing that the Labour Party does not discriminate between old and new members.
Otti also commended Ufomba for his commitment to the development of Abia State and acknowledged his support for the administration’s reform programmes.
Speaking during the event, Ufomba pledged his loyalty to the Labour Party and expressed readiness to contribute to the growth and progress of the state under the party’s platform.
He thanked Governor Otti and the Labour Party leadership in Abia State for the warm reception and confidence reposed in him and his supporters.
