The Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA) has intensified its road safety and traffic enforcement campaign, warning motorists and commercial transport operators to comply with traffic regulations or face sanctions.

In a public safety advisory shared through the Office of the Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor, the agency reiterated its commitment to promoting safer roads and improving traffic management across the state.

ARTMA said enforcement against traffic offences such as one-way driving, indiscriminate parking, speeding, reckless overtaking, and disregard for traffic signs has been strengthened to reduce accidents and ease congestion.

The agency urged motorists to obey traffic lights, road signs, lane markings, and lawful directives from traffic officials, particularly on newly constructed roads and flyovers.

Drivers were also advised to avoid the use of mobile phones while driving, observe speed limits, maintain roadworthy vehicles, and carry essential safety equipment.

ARTMA further called on road users to cooperate with its officers and report suspected impersonators, while emphasizing the need for responsible driving to enhance public safety and ensure the smooth flow of traffic across Anambra State.
