The Action Alliance (AA) candidate for Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Onuzulike John Udemezue, has identified agricultural empowerment as a critical strategy for achieving food security and boosting economic development in the constituency.

Speaking on his vision for the federal constituency, Udemezue said he would prioritize support for farmers through improved access roads, infrastructure and policies aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, particularly in Ayamelum, a major food-producing area of Anambra State.

The House of Representatives hopeful expressed concern over the state of healthcare facilities in several communities, describing many primary healthcare centres as inadequate and poorly equipped. He pledged to rebuild and equip community health centres across Oyi and Ayamelum, while also introducing incentives for mothers and newborns accessing healthcare services.

Udemezue also promised to tackle the longstanding challenge of rural electrification in communities such as Omasi-Uno, Umumbo and Umuelum, which he said have suffered years of inadequate or non-existent power supply.

According to him, improving electricity access, addressing erosion threats, and constructing internal roads that connect farming communities to markets will be among his top priorities if elected.

On education, the AA candidate said his focus would not be on constructing new school buildings but on upgrading existing schools with modern learning facilities and equipment, noting that some schools in the constituency still rely heavily on outdated teaching tools.

Udemezue maintained that Oyi/Ayamelum deserves practical and people-focused representation that directly addresses the challenges affecting rural communities and improves the quality of life for residents.
