A tragic incident has rocked the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), Delta State, following the death of a 100-level student who was allegedly stabbed by his elder brother during a dispute on campus.

The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday evening at Hostel C after an argument between the siblings escalated. According to reports, the elder brother allegedly lured the student to a secluded area behind the hostel where he attacked him before fleeing the scene.

The victim, despite sustaining critical injuries, was said to have managed to move from the location before he was discovered by fellow students, who immediately raised an alarm.

Confirming the incident, the Vice-Chancellor of FUPRE, Ezekiel Agbalagba, described the development as unfortunate and disclosed that efforts were underway to apprehend the suspect and hand him over to law enforcement authorities.

The university management has assured students and parents that the situation is under control, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue. The tragic death has sparked shock and grief across the campus community.
