Newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Doma United are set to appoint experienced tactician Deji Ayeni as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season. The club has identified the former Enyimba manager as the ideal candidate to lead their return to Nigeria’s top flight.

Ayeni, who most recently managed Enyimba in the NPFL, is expected to take charge of the Savannah Tigers as they begin preparations for life back in the elite division. The 54-year-old coach brings a wealth of experience, having previously handled clubs such as Sunshine Stars, Akwa United, Crown FC and Enyimba.

Doma United secured promotion back to the NPFL after an impressive campaign and are now looking to strengthen their technical department with a coach who possesses extensive top-flight experience. The club believes Ayeni’s knowledge of the league and proven ability to work with developing squads will be crucial as they aim to establish themselves among Nigeria’s elite once again.

An official announcement is expected soon, with Ayeni poised to begin work immediately as Doma United intensify preparations for the upcoming NPFL campaign. The appointment signals the club’s ambition to not only survive in the top flight but also compete strongly upon their return.
