The Anglican Diocese of Enugu has announced that its forthcoming 3rd Session of the 19th Synod will focus not only on spiritual revival but also on critical national issues affecting Nigeria.

Speaking ahead of the Synod, the Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Prof. Samuel Ike, expressed concern over persistent poor governance, insecurity, economic hardship, and other national challenges despite the growing number of churches across the country.

The Synod, themed “Revival Levels: A Prepared Heart to Study, to Do and to Teach the Word of God,” is scheduled to hold at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Ogbete, Enugu, from June 24 to June 28, 2026.

According to Bishop Ike, discussions will cover key national concerns, including governance, democracy, electricity supply, insecurity, education, the economy, the delayed Eastern Rail Project, and preparations for the 2027 general elections.

He stressed that the Church has a responsibility to speak truth to those in authority and advocate for positive change in society.

Renowned evangelist Gbile Akanni is expected to minister during the opening sessions, while former Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, will lead the Synod Thanksgiving Service on June 28.

The Bishop noted that genuine spiritual revival has the power to transform individuals, communities, and the nation at large.
