Governor Muhammadu Yahaya has formally presented the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Gombe State, Jamilu Gwamna, to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The presentation came shortly after Gwamna emerged as the APC candidate following what the party described as an overwhelming victory in its governorship primary election ahead of the 2027 polls.
Tinubu congratulated Gwamna on his emergence and commended Yahaya for what he described as exemplary leadership and efforts in strengthening the APC in Gombe State.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Gombe Government House, Ismaila Misilli, the President expressed confidence in the APC’s leadership in the state and its ability to sustain its developmental strides.
The statement quoted Tinubu as saying he was optimistic that “the party will continue to build on its developmental achievements and maintain the political stability that has characterised Gombe State under the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
The President also praised Yahaya for his visionary governance and commitment to consolidating the party’s structures in the state.
