The Anambra Unity Festival (ANUFEST) 2026 has been announced as a major cultural event aimed at promoting unity, tourism, and economic development across Anambra State.
The Director of the festival, Mr. Ifeanyi Eziukwu, disclosed that the week-long celebration will hold from September 21 to 27, 2026, across all 21 local government areas of the state.
He said ANUFEST is designed not only as a cultural showcase but also as a platform to strengthen the identity of Ndi Anambra, empower youths and creatives, and attract investment into the state.
The festival will feature cultural displays, sports competitions including the ANUFEST Unity Cup, theatre performances, entrepreneurship summits, tourism excursions, and entertainment showcases.
Special tributes will also be paid to iconic figures such as Chinua Achebe and Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, while major stage productions and performances by the National Troupe of Nigeria are expected to headline the event.
Organisers say the festival will open up opportunities across key sectors including tourism, hospitality, transportation, media, fashion, and small-scale enterprises, while providing a platform for local talents and businesses to gain visibility.
ANUFEST 2026 is being organised by JT Play Hub in partnership with the Anambra State Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, alongside other cultural and tourism stakeholders.
With wide participation expected, the festival is projected to become one of the largest cultural and tourism events in the South-East region, showcasing Anambra’s heritage and creative potential to a global audience.
