The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 Abia election, Dr. Kelechi Anosike, has said Abia State has sufficient resources to meet the needs of its people, insisting that poor governance, not lack of funds is responsible for the state’s challenges.
Anosike criticised the current administration, alleging a disconnect between government claims and the realities faced by workers, pensioners, and residents.
He pledged that, if elected, his administration would implement the ₦90,000 national minimum wage, introduce free health insurance for civil servants and pensioners, clear outstanding pension arrears, and establish a Civil Service Care Programme to improve workers’ welfare.
The PDP candidate also promised to create a Civil Service College for training and capacity building, while stressing that development must be people-centred.
According to Anosike, prudent management of state resources, transparency, and proper prioritisation would enable Abia to fund infrastructure projects, improve workers’ welfare, and restore dignity to pensioners without financial strain.
