Stakeholders from Alor community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State have thrown their weight behind the ongoing police investigation into the suspected murder of a 23-year-old female student, pledging full cooperation to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
The delegation, led by the President-General of Alor Community, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, alongside prominent red cap chiefs, visited the Anambra State Police Command over the weekend to express solidarity with the investigative team and reaffirm the community’s commitment to the pursuit of justice.
Speaking during the visit, Ojukwu commended the Police Command for its swift response and professionalism in handling the case, expressing confidence that the investigation would uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
He noted that the visit was aimed at supporting the police investigation while strengthening collaboration between the community and law enforcement agencies. The stakeholders also provided useful information to aid ongoing investigations and pledged continued support until the perpetrators are identified and prosecuted.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, assured the delegation that the Command remains fully committed to uncovering the truth behind the killing.
He urged residents to remain calm, avoid speculation and rumours, and provide credible information that could assist investigators in bringing the case to a successful conclusion.
CP Orutugu reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to protect lives and property, assuring the bereaved family, the Alor community and the people of Anambra State that no stone would be left unturned in ensuring justice is served.
